Creative Work at Home is owned by Wendy Betterini, a freelance writer in New England, USA.

I began working at home in June 2003 after losing my corporate job with a national insurance company.  Though it sounds funny now, walking out of that building for the last time was incredibly freeing and I felt as if I had just been released from prison.  I had always wanted to be my own boss, and I figured this was a great time to give it a shot.  I knew I didn't want to go back to working a traditional job again, but I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to find legitimate work to do from home.

When I first began searching for work at home jobs, I was appalled by all the scams and misleading opportunities I found.  Yes, I got suckered a few times.  But I persisted in my research because I knew I could make it work.  Sure enough, I eventually found some companies that offered real jobs at home.  Though I valued the experience I gained with them and was grateful for the opportunities, I realized I still wanted to be my own boss.

I began looking into home business opportunities, and tried a couple, but finally I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of being a freelance writer.  In no time at all, my dream had come true and I was working full time as a freelancer from my home office, earning way more than I ever did working at a regular job.

Though my own dream had come true, I knew there were many more people out there searching for a way to work from home, and because of them I compiled my years of research into a comprehensive website that would help educate seekers and provide opportunities to help them succeed.

If you are still seeking that perfect work at home job or business, my strongest advice to you is: don't give up!  You CAN find a way to earn an income from home, it just may take some time to find the way that works best for you.
